Location
The Moffat Ram overlooks the High Street just a few yards from the hotel. Dedicated to the memory of James Hogg, the 'Ettrick Shepherd', it symbolises Moffat's role as a farming community.
Moffat has been voted 'The Best Kept Village in Scotland' and has won the 'Scotland in Bloom' Award: you need only visit the Old Station Yard with its beautiful gardens, boating pond and putting green to see why. Plenty of quaint shops and local produce, the village has something to suit everybody. With the historic Border towns nearby, and Glasgow, Edinburgh, Carlisle and Gretna Green all within easy driving distance, there is a wealth of exploration awaiting you.
Coming from the North or South on the M74, Moffat is off Junction 15 along the A701 scenic route to Edinburgh.
